Amazing Rapper Turns Adversity to Opportunity

When you read this rapper's biography, you immediately get a feel for the many obstacles that he had to overcome to achieve success in his young life. He had to endure the hardship of being a good basketball player in high school but to be held back by his coach.

He was the one who didn't miss a shot in the try-out but was mysteriously excluded from the team. Then when he switched schools, his coach was telling all the Division I coaches that call that he was not at their level. The coach was receiving letters and hoarding the letters and not passing them on until he was confronted by Jair's mother.

He was forced to go to prep school in order to be further exposed to coaches in the basketball system in the US to get an athletic scholarship. Inner city kids can definitely learn from Jair's experiences because he never allowed these "haters" as we call them in hip hop to block his ambition and determination to achieve success.

Very close reliable sources revealed that Jair's problems didn't only come from his basketball coach. Apparently, people very close to him who will remain nameless, also worked against him to block his path to success. For a lot of people, these would be insurmountable odds or obstacles to have to overcome but Jair turned them into stepping stones to success.

Truth Says the Streets Want their Music Back

In keeping with our goal to find new rap songs from new hip hop music artists, we would like to introduce you to Shattering Records another independent record label.

Shattering Records is looking to venture out globally to develop a roster of not only local artists in R&B, rap and hip hop but reggae artists and producers. This label has a mission to bring real hip hop music that's highly sought by music fans worldwide in the hope of developing international superstars. With this goal in mind, they have extracted the raw talented artist, Truth from the urbanwear music world.

Truth's music is reminiscent of the partying moods of the 60s and is truly unforgettable. This hop hop and rap artist was born and raised in Brooklyn and developed a passion for computer composition. To broaden his knowledge on the electronic frontier, hone his skills and distinguish a clear edge, Truth attended a technical college to obtain an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Network Systems Administration and Industrial Electronics.

He is a firm believer that hip hop originated on the streets of New York so his rap music is aimed at bringing hip hop music back to its historical roots. Truth is not alone in this endeavor because new rap songs at Vanguard rap and hip hop music social community website is spreading this same message of versatility with head-banging beats and thought-provoking lyrics from Jair Dynast.

Hockey Rap Music and Hip Hop

Recently, I had a long conversation with a friend from Canada. We talked about politics up in Canada and here in the United States. Our attention switched to the upcoming hockey season and he mentioned Sarah Palin being a sexy hockey mom and he would give anything to see her in lingerie.

He told me how hockey-mad Canadians are and that there was a Hockey Anthem or theme written by Dolores Claman back in '60s that was called Canada's second national anthem. When CBC network decided to retire the song, there was an outrage by hockey fans across the Canadian landscape.

I thought very progressive for a woman to write something that huge in 1960 but I didn't actually mouth the words to him. He then told me that the network decided to hold a contest for Canadian musicians and artists to write their rendition to replace Dolores song.

The rules were written and several thousand entries were submitted from artists across the country from coast-to-coast. The winner of the contest would receive a grand prize of $100,000 Canadian and their own place in the minds of hockey screaming fans up there.

We then got into a heated debate about rappers and hockey with me asking if any rappers submitted music. To prove his point, he sent me the link to the submission from this former Toronto rap music artist. To my surprise it was one of rap music's emerging prolific artist whose new rap song I had recently downloaded for my iPod from iTunes.

You can listen, share and enjoy this two-minute "hockey night in Canada" rendition from Jair Dynast who now splits his time between Toronto and Brooklyn, New York. As a matter of fact, I first met Jair at the Crash Mansion, NYC where he performed for the CMJ Music Marathon and we've become quite friendly.

Ice Cube Raw Footage

Lench Mob Records released Raw Footage from Ice Cube on August 19, 2008 and in only one month, the Amazon reviews are rolling in. Musac Critic's Amazon review calls it an "exceptional album" and if his review is typical of all rap music fans, Raw Footage shows why Ice Cube's is one of hip hop's true pioneers.

Vanguard rap
is the new rap music to blaze hip hop culture and is available monthly as free downloads for rap music lovers to check out. For your free top rap music, click here.

Here's Musac Critic's Amazon partial review and there are scores of others so you be the judge:

"Say what you want, Ice Cube is one of rap's pioneer's and definitely one of the best rappers, period. Forget all the sub-genres of rap - Ice Cube is the personification of true rap. His flow, his phrasing, and his lyrics are "ill". Anybody who wants to hear what straight-up rap is supposed to sound like, buy this album or Cube's previous album, LAUGH NOW, CRY LATER. Ice is relevant, despite any accusations made that the "original gangsta" sold out after his family-friendly movies. He is still a gangster - RAW FOOTAGE is the proof of this.

The album opens up with the quirky "What is A Pyroclastic Flow" (an interlude) that makes you wonder where Cube is going to take this thing. We later find that Cube references "Pyroclastic Flow" throughout the album. But really, did Cube have to prove to us his flow is "sick"? Nope, the "proof is in the pudding", as they say. Official opening track "I Got My Locs On" features none other than the second most featured rapper of 2008 (besides Weezy), Young Jeezy. "I Got My Locs On" is a great opener, though even stronger material shows up following it. "It Takes A Nation" is certainly one of RAW FOOTAGE's strongest number, in which Cube confidently states "there are seven known wonders of the world/you're about to witness the eighth motherf*****". Throughout this seminal track, Cube spits nothing but "ether" , as Diddy would say. It clearly shows that ARE WE THERE YET? didn't strip O'Shea Jackson of any of his "gangster-ism". One of the most creative lines might just be when Cube references being on an independent label and in essence, he doesn't care whether this album sells or not. If it doesn't, it is a shame.

"Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It" again showcases Cube's "pyroclastic flow". Cube talks real talk about gangsta rap and justifies the fact that he can say/do whatever the [bleep] he wants. It is a free country. "Hood Mentality" keeps the pace going in which Cube talks about well, having a "hood mentality", but not being "the hood". Call it whatever you want, it is another winning cut from RAW FOOTAGE. "Why Me" features neo-soul standout Musiq Soulchild, at his best as always. The production work continues an incredible strong streak, as does Cube. Real hip-hop ladies and gentlemen. It makes you wonder if Erykah Badu was so off when she compared hip-hop to religion on 2008's "The Healer/Hip-Hop" ("it's bigger than religion hip-hop..."). "Cold Places" is one of my personal favorites, if for nothing else but the sick production work. Aside from the killer beat and undeniably sick synths, Cube's flow is unparalleled here. Cube truly proves he is the embodiment of hip-hop. He is gangsta-rap. What he shows more importantly is that these "studio rappers" don't know anything about "gangsta rap", which he also quotes in his track, "Thank God"....

While some of the sheen of RAW FOOTAGE has worn off by this track (track 16), Cube has done more than enough to earn his honors of 4 stars from me. Personally, I'd love to see this album get a Grammy Nomination. However, the west Coast has been ignored by The Grammys in the past. Maybe, this year is the year. Superb album".

Artists GZA and Genius Pro Tools

Pro Tools by artist GZA, Genius audio cd was released on August 19, 2008 by Babygrande label. Here's an August review from N. Diaz - Pasendena, CA on his Amazon purchase: "I am not going to repeat everyone else. Pencil and Paper Plate alone are worth the admission to this Cd. Is it me or is GZA and GHostface solo albums (recent ones) are better than the Wu tang recent album"?

On September 4, 2008, Kurupt "God-Body Reviewer" from Chicago said it was another dope chamber - here's his cd review: "After all these years, being dope is synonymous with GZA. He has year by year and album by album produced innovative dope music. He is creative with the word play, knows how to deliver the rhymes and picked out some dope beats that fit the raw lyrics. With guest appearances of RZA, MASTA KILLA, and others adds to the superior lyrics of the genius. Pro tools is a solid album from beginning to end and is highly recommended to true hip hop fans".
